Living Quarters & Location

Camp Winnarainbow is nestled in a forested area of beautifull Mendocino County.

It is approximately a three hour drive north of San Francisco, California on Highway 101. The nearest town is Laytonville, California. Click here to see the map.

 

The camp area is bordered by two year round streams. “Downtown Camp” consists of a Big Top, stilt field, aerial site, the tipi circle, and the main Winnarainbow Stage, complete with professional lighting and sound for the campers’ shows. Surrounding Downtown there are three other stages used for classes and rehearsals, an art grove, an outdoor living room, ping pong tables, and a huge Costume Castle under the trees!

 

There is also swimming in our beautiful three acre Lake Veronica. It boasts a 350 foot waterslide; the only one of its kind in Mendocino County.

 

Our lovely labyrinth is visited each year by both campers and staff. Tipi groups enjoy evening "lab" walks with Wavy. Stargazing walks to the big totem pole in the center of the sports field are led by adult staff.

 

Campers' living quarters are in a large circle of custom made, certified fire-proof tipis. Comfortable canvas covered foam sleeping mats are provided. The tipi circle is very close to hot showers, wash basins and flush toilets. A full service kitchen is right nearby.
