Grace And Joy Scholarship Fund

Camp Winnarainbow is committed to social change by bringing low-income, disadvantaged children to Camp through the Grace and Joy Scholarship Fund. Working closely with local social service agencies and families, Campers have included homeless children, children of incarcerated parents, and children of political refugees. Winnarainbow provides these children, who have no other means, an opportunity to develop their artistic talents. While there are many programs that work exclusively with inner-city or other categories of children at risk, the Camp Winnarainbow program seeks to do something different: to nurture and develop a community which reflects the world children will inherit by intentionally melding Campers from a variety of backgrounds. As Campers live and play together, the seeds of tolerance are planted, thereby enabling children to build new ways of relating to and appreciating one another. It is Camp Winnarainbow's conviction that these children can then become catalysts for social change with a positive effect on the future.
